Reasonably sure that this image was created by Bob Mizer / Athletic Model Guild [AMG]. The patterns of light and shadow behind the column are produced by back projection, a technique that Mizer learned from his work in Hollywood movie studios. Mizer was the only physique photographer to employ this method in his pictures. Not certain about the name of the model -- could it be Stan Gergoshian?
Hello, Henreid! I think you're right that it's by Bob Mizer, who employed both the lighting technique and the fig leaf in his early (pre-PHYSIQUE PICTORIAL) images. I don't think the model is Stan Gergoshian, of whom I have three photos on the blog. Thank you for writing! Michael
