Tony Sabatino

Tony Sabatino appeared in more than a few beefcake magazines in the 1960's.

Though much thinner than the bodybuilders modeling during the 1940's and -50's, I think he has a great physique.

Ed Fury and Paul Moffitt Photographed by Bruce of Los Angeles

UPDATED September 4, 2017: Bruce of Los Angeles took this photograph of Ed Fury battling Paul Moffitt.

Ray Harper

Russ Warner took the excellent photograph of Ray Harper on his knees, but I am not sure he took the other images.

I am tracking down more photographs of this muscular model.

Don Hawksley Photographed by Pat Milo

Pat Milo took these great images of Don Hawskley.

Though I certainly enjoy seeing him nude and seeing him sporting a chin strap, which has come back into fashion, my favorite image here is of Don seated and wearing a jockstrap.

Phil Knight

UPDATED May 2, 2013: I replaced with a larger, brighter version the photograph of Phil Knight reaching one hand back to touch a rock.

I suspect all of these photographs were taken by Bruce of Los Angeles, but am still seeking confirmation.

Steve Reeves

Here are four more great images of Steve Reeves.

Pat Burnham

I believe all of these images of Pat Burnham were taken by the Western Photography Guild, but I've not yet been able to confirm this.

He was a very popular model and was often photographed wrestling other models. I have several images of him with Kenny Owens that I will add to the blog. You can see Kenny by himself when you jump to this post on the blog.

Jules Bacon Photographed by Al Urban

Al Urban took these great photographs of Jules Bacon, who was Mr. America in 1943 and appeared on the covers of numerous fitness magazines. He ran a gym in Pennsylvania and wrote articles for Strength and Health magazine for more than twenty years.

He is one of my favorite bodybuilders, as I think his abdomen is a work of art.

Manuel Léonard

I have misplaced my note on Manuel Léonard and hope someone can assist me with his identity. I suspect he won more than one bodybuilding title.

Andrew Kozak Photographed by the Athletic Model Guild

The Athletic Model Guild took these nice photographs of Andrew Kozak.

I generally like men without their body hair shaved off, but do think the image of Andrew missing his chest hair better shows off the details of his physique.

Alvin Law by Kris Studios

Kris Studio took this excellent photograph of Alvin Law.

Since this image appeared in a magazine, I suspect it was cropped. I wish we were able to see Alvin's thighs. He looks very muscular.

Kris Studio was founded in 1950 by Chuck Renslow, one of the pioneering photographers of vintage beefcake.

Kim Fox Photographed by Bruce of Los Angeles

Kim Fox was another massive model very popular with the beefcake photographers. These images were taken by Bruce of Los Angeles. I think he has a fantastic abdomen.

When you jump to this post and this one on the blog, you'll see Kim wrestling with John Weidemann.
