Dale Gilbert and Ray McGuire Photographed by the Western Photography Guild

The Western Photography Guild took these images of Ray McGuire and Dale Gilbert.

I like the one of Ray solo as the viewer can clearly see what a great physique he has.

However, the image of him holding up a reclining Dale is arresting for its otherworldly composition. At first glance, you cannot determine whose arms belong to whom; and the fact that both models are flexing their muscular bodies into almost ballet movements at a vertiginous angle to the hillside does little to appease your unease at viewing the image.

  1. Hello, Mort! I have read more than once about this debate. I have decided this is Ray, and will add to the blog a post with a two pix of Les - I think Les was a bit younger in all the photographs I've seen, or at least he had chubbier cheeks.

  2. If you look at their ear lobes you can see Les and Ray are different men.
