Orest Daszo Photographed by Les Demi Dieux

In the 1960's, while other up-and-coming photographers of the male semi-nude and nude showcased men in locker rooms and at the beach, the man known as Les Demi Dieux captured exquisite images like this one of Orest Daszo.

Helmut Riedmeier

Here are three photographs of popular physique model Helmut Riedmeier paging through a photo magazine.

Leonard Chambers Photographed by the Athletic Model Guild

I was happy to acquire these photographs of Leonard Chambers taken by the Athletic Model Guild in the early 1950's.

Leonard has a playful smile in two images, quite a departure from his usual stern gaze.

I hope to find a replacement for the damaged photograph.

Unknown Model Photographed by John Arnt

John Arnt took this photograph of this unknown model, of whom you can see another image when you jump to this post on the blog.

John is quickly becoming one of my favorite photographers. Unfortunately, I only have a handful of his images. His selection of models as well as the kinetic charge palpable in each of his photographs are stellar.

Kris Studios took these photographs of Bill Griffin, of whom I hope to obtain more images.

Ed Fury

I do not know who took this oddly constructed photograph of Ed Fury, whose leanly muscular physique never fails to be an inspiration.

Supposedly, that is Ed's signature beneath his left elbow.

Everett Lee Jackson and Unknown Models

Everett Lee Jackson aka Cherokee looks fantastic in this color image by an unknown photographer.

I love how he sits above and seems a bit removed from the unknown models whose attention is squarely focused on the book, Skins.

Unknown Model

I know nothing about this massive, melancholy model.

George Sheffield

George Sheffield's well-balanced physique is a masterpiece.  It is little wonder he won the titles Mr. Southern California in 1960 and Mr. California in 1962.

On the March, 1962 cover of Strength and Health, Hugo Labra raises his arm overhead beside George down on one knee.
