In this fantastic image by an unknown photographer, the nude model strains his body against a bow, one of the many props borrowed from antiquity by photographers working in North America and Europe prior to the 1960's in an effort to add credibility to their claim photographing men and women nude is art.

At the bottom right of the photograph, someone - model, photographer, photograph collector? - has written, "Sincerely, your friend, Lawrence."
