UPDATED August 4, 2013: My thanks to the reader who helped me correctly identify this model as Emil Bonnet, whose muscular, broad back is an inspiration.
You are mistaken - It is not about Marcel Rouet but Emile Bonnet, appointed more beautiful athlete of the world in 1938 in La Baule. It is the photo which is used in the encyclopedia Larousse to illustrate the word "man". But both were of use as models to well Gregor Arax and that this confusion is frequent even on the French sites.
It took some time for me to locate more photographs of both Marcel Rouet and Emile Bonnet.
They have fantastic physiques. It is really difficult to determine which man is featured in this photograph, but I now agree with you. I have seen more photographs of Rouet, and he became very thickly muscular. In those photographs, I can see his torso is a bit shorter than Bonnet's.
Pretty sure it's Marcel Rouet (1909-1982).

Hello, Jean-Pierre Leclerc!
ReplyDeleteThank you for taking the time to write.
I will look for more examples of both models.
