  1. Hi Mike! I discovered your blog a few months ago (better late than never, huh?) and am enjoying it very much! I love this era of beefcake photography and was familiar with some of the models already. One that I wasn't familiar with is Kip and (as you can guess) he has become one of my favorites! Do you have any more information about him? There is not much online and after appearing in a couple of films in the mid-'60s, seems to have disappeared (though as mentioned previously is still alive). He's got a GREAT smile (amongst other things)! Thanks!

  2. Hello, Brian Kerr!

Thank you for saying you enjoy the blog. I like working on it every day.

You likely found the comments here:

in which a reader says he's doing quite well in LA.

In Volume 9 of Bruce of Los Angeles' magazine, The Male Figure, Bruce writes:

"Bruce has the United States Marines to thank for the presence in Male Figure of blonde, handsome Kip Behar.

"A Brooklyn-born boy of 21 years, Kip is 6 feet tall and weighs 195 pounds.

"In his high school days, Kip plays fullback and was a star gymnast. When he isn't "on duty," Kip takes in the southern California beaches - and the day he visited Bruce, the sights of Hollywood.

"Who dazzled who the most - you tell us."

Okay, Bruce wasn't the best writer, but he took fantastic photographs of Kip.

I hope he's still out there doing well.

    Best regards,

    Michael

PS - That issue is for sale in my online store.
